Ronstadt Generations y Los Tucsonenses bring their show to the world famous Gaslight Theatre. Enjoy a family oriented show full of Ronstadt family stories, traditional songs and old mexican favorites, original music by the Ronstadt family, and new arrangements of old favorites by Stephen Stills, Jimmie Rodgers, Paul Simon, Merl Travis, Robert Johnson, and many more.
Ronstadt Generations represents the multi-cultural roots America was founded upon. Dating back five generations in North America, Michael J. Ronstadt, younger brother of Linda Ronstadt, continues the family tradition with his son, Petie.
These two voices -- both multi-instrumentalists and solo artists in their own right -- bring to life a repertoire that reaches back to the end of the 19th century while continually looking ahead into the 21st, with a rich innovation of original material alongside traditional Southwestern and Mexican songs.
Joining Michael J and Petie Ronstadt are "Los Tucsonenses", the versatile band that is an extension of Ronstadt Generations. This band is comprised of Gaslight favorites Alex Flores (Bad News Blues Band, The Socials) on Tenor Saxophone and Vocals, Sam Eagon (The Socials, Genevieve & The LPs) on Upright and Electric Bass, and Aaron Emery (The Socials, Genevieve & The LPs) on Drums/ Percussion and Vocals.
This cast of musicians have proven themselves to be one of the most versatile group of players in Tucson and the Southwest, seamlessly weaving themselves through the many genres of music which comprises the Generations repertoire.
Spend an evening of stories and music with one of Tucson’s oldest families and enjoy a musical journey with Ronstadt Generations y Los Tucsonenses at the Gaslight Theatre on May 27, 2013.
